By connecting your own payment gateway, any money you receive will get deposited directly into your account, and you will be able to charge members in your country's home currency (provided that your country is included on the list of countries serviced by your chosen payment gateway, and the payment gateway supports your desired currency).

Below is a list of all of the currently supported payment gateways with links to more information about the countries and currencies supported by each. If you want to know more info about one of them in specific please click on the name below:

Stripe.com

This is our Recommended Payment Gateway.

Why do we recommend Stripe?

  1. Cost: Stripe charges no monthly fee, and an industry-standard per-transaction, making it one of the most economical payment gateway options available. Stripe pricing details
  2. Latest Technology: Stripe was founded in 2012, so it is a relatively new payment gateway compared to some of the other options on the market.  However, because of its recency, it has been built from the ground-up with the latest technologies and security protocols, and has been able to avoid many of the mistakes that have plagued more antiquated options such as PayPal, eWay, and Authorize.net.
  3. Market Reach / Support: As of this writing, it currently supports transactions in 100+ currencies, is available for businesses in 25+ countries, and is constantly expanding that reach, making it one of the most widely-available payment gateways on the market.
  4. Security: Stripe uses a "tokenization" system to process payments, which offers the best combination of user experience and security available today.  This means that as soon as a member completes a transaction through your website, Stripe securely stores the member's credit card information in their own PCI-compliant network, and it is not stored locally on your website at all.  Instead, only a "token" (an encrypted string of characters which represent's that member's credit card information) is stored locally on your website.  In the unlikely event that someone was able to gain access to this information on your site, all they would find would be tokens that cannot be used to access the member's actual credit card data.  This means you never have to worry about someone stealing the credit card information of the members on your website.
  5. Website Owner Experience: Setting up a new Stripe account is extremely easy, and can be completed in a few short minutes.  Once the account is setup and connected to your Brilliant Directories website, it works extremely well.  Of the thousands of Brilliant Directories websites that have a payment gateway connected, users have rarely reported issues when setting up Stripe, even if they have had issues trying to setup a different payment gateway in the past.
  6. Website Member Experience: Once Stripe is connected as your payment gateway, members of your site never know that you are using Stripe to process payments.  Members never have to leave your website to pay, and your website's name shows up on their credit card statement.  When Stripe attempts to process payments from your members, it has an extremely high rate of successful transactions, being able to capture payment successfully when other payment gateway cannot

In Summary: Compared to the other payment gateway options, it is the easiest to setup and maintain an account, there are no monthly fees, it is far more advanced in terms of technology and security, it has all of the features you will need for a payment gateway, and most importantly - it just works.

If you are not 100% set on another payment gateway option, even if you have a history with another payment gateway, we would highly recommend using Stripe with your Brilliant Directories website.

Pro Tip - Invest in Your Site's Perceived Value With an SSL Certificate

All payment pages collect sensitive member and credit card information, so all transactions on these pages are secured using an SSL Certificate.

By default, your site will use our generic secured payment domain, securemypayment.com.  However, potential members of your site are much more likely to complete a transaction on a secured page on your own domain rather than a generic domain like securemypayment.com.

To process all payments using secured pages on your own domain (plus secure all other pages of your site as well), install an SSL Certificate on your domain.  We have an SSL Installation Service available to have our internal security team install, test, and maintain your SSL Certificate for you for the life of your website.

If you are interested in acquiring an SSL Certificate please submit a request to support@brilliantdirectories.com.
