A post type's name, its tab title on member profiles, its search results page title and its URL can all be changed from the post type's settings. This article uses the Classified post type as an example.
- Go to My Content » Edit Post Settings.
- Find the post type to rename (the search box at the top right of the list filters it) and click Edit.
Post Type Name
The Post Type Name field at the top of the page (1) holds the name used to refer to this type of post throughout the site. Give it a unique name.
The name is plain text: any HTML tags typed into it are removed when the post type is saved.

URL Permalink
In the General Settings tab, update the URL Permalink (1) to match the new name. Only use alphanumeric characters.

Profile Page Tab Title
In the Profile Page Design tab (1), the Profile Page Tab Title (2) is the title of this post type's tab on member profiles.

Search Results Page Title
In the Search Results Design tab (1), the Search Results Page Title - H1 (2) is the heading visitors and members see on this post type's search results page.

Click Save Changes when finished.
Confirm Changes
When the URL Permalink was changed, saving the post type opens the Do you want to update the Post URL? message, EG "The URL of this Post Type has been changed from classifieds to classifieds-for-sale. Do you also want to update the URL of all associated posts?"
- Yes, Continue also moves every post of this type to the new URL, so a post at /classifieds/... now shows at /classifieds-for-sale/....
- No, cancel keeps the posts at their current URLs. The post type's own changes, including its new URL Permalink, are already saved.
Refresh the website's cache to see the changes on the live site: Refreshing Live Site
Changed Title and URL
The post type's search results page uses the URL Permalink (1) and the Search Results Page Title (2), so a new title and URL show on the front end as soon as they are saved and the cache is refreshed.
